| Initial Consultation | This can be an informal face-to-face meeting, if you are in Sonoma County, or over the phone, if out of the area or out of the state. During this meeting we discuss goals for the site, the target audience, your preferences with regard to color, style, design elements, site hosting, rates and payment schedule. This initial consultation phase is free. If you are interested in proceeding, a proposal will be written, along with cost estimates, and we will take your project to phase two. |  |
| Formal Contract | After the initial meeting, I will draw up a proposal based on our discussion, with an estimate of time and cost involved. We meet a second time to discuss the details of this proposal, make any necessary additions or changes, go over the cost estimate for the project and if you are ready to proceed the contract is signed. One-third of the estimated cost for project is due as a retainer before work can begin. |

| Planning: Storyboard |
The structure of your site, including any new pages to be created, is layed out in the form of a storyboard or flowchart. This helps us to visualize the hierarchy of your site and plan your site's navigation. |

| Planning: Color Pallete |
The next step is the color pallete. A graphic or photograph from your site is chosen and 4-6 colors are extracted from the image which will then be used as the basis for background colors, headings, navigation, and text colors. A Powerpoint or PDF presentation, with examples of your choices for heading colors shown against your chosen background color, is then e-mailed to you for your approval. |  |

| Planning: Photoshop Mockups |
A Photoshop mock-up will be made for all pages with unique design elements, At this stage, we try out different alignments, layouts, and/or color combinations. Powerpoint or PDF presentations of site mockups are emailed to you for your approval. The next third of the estimated cost of the project is due upon approval of finalized design and before site development can begin. |

| Development and Implementation | The approved Photoshop mockups are utilized to fine-tune the layout of your site and build the structure using xhtml and css style sheets. All pages are validated and cross-browser tested for compatibility in the most popular browsers. A link to your developing site will be sent to you via e-mail. Any necessary design changes are emailed to you for your approval. The remaining balance is due upon completion of web site architecture and before web site can be transferred to your web host and domain. |
