About Our Artists

Artists Amber and Tara RankinTwins, Amber "Scarlett" and Tara Rankin, decided on careers in art at the age of five after receiving a series of "how to draw" books, featuring Disney characters, for their birthday. They loved being able to re-create the characters from their favorite films and from that point on, the young artists would spend hours each day diligently practicing drawing techniques and perfecting their individual styles.

Amber and Tara are graduates of Windsor High School in beautiful Windsor, California. In addition to their art, they are actively involved in Irish Dance and theatre, both backstage and on stage. As members of the Windsor High School Jaguar Troupe (2002-2005)our artists worked many hours backstage on set construction and set painting for WHS Jaguar Troupe productions of Little Shop of Horrors, Lost In Yonkers, The Elephant Man, Dracula, Arsenic And Old Lace, Sabrina Fair, Sorry, and Toy Camp.

Examples of their work can be seen locally at Windsor High School, where as seniors they collaborated in the design and painting of two murals, one located on the outer wall of the culinary arts building and the other in the make-up room of the Windsor High School theater. Examples of their early work can also be seen at the Windsor Middle School, where they designed and painted the stained glass windows above the doors at the Windsor Middle School Gymnasium as part of an after school art program in seventh grade.

Amber and Tara are currently pursuing their love of art and theatre as Studio Art majors at the University of California, Davis.
