Genealogy is the science (or art) of collecting odd facts and bits of history, little mysteries and intrigues, in hopes that someday you will be able to connect them all together, like pieces of a puzzle; only it's your puzzle and your history and that is what makes it fun and fascinating.

The Rankin Family History Project, begun by my sister, has been ongoing and on the web since 1997. So, rather than rewrite history, so to speak, on these pages, you will find a collection of Rankin facts, legends, theories, and trivia, just the tip of The Rankin Family History Project iceberg.
